The Gilleminus a touch of history
Our house was built in the period 1892-1895 by Gustave Verbruggen, the founder of Constructiewerkhuizen Verbruggen and the inventor of the first machines in the world for processing horse and pig hair for the filling of seats. The house is part of Real Estate Flanders.

The big hall has recently been completely restored and looks beautiful again. With beautiful characteristic details of Triphon De Smet, winner of the Rome 1902 prize.
The stairway and entrance
Many of the original elements have been preserved, which gives the house a unique cachet with matching furniture.
The living room with fireplace
The salons form a beautiful mix of old grandeur, old furniture and modern design. Always with a touch of classical music.
B&B room, The Gilleminus
On the first floor there is a spacious B&B room, The Gilleminus.
You will find free parking for your car in the Stationsstraat at 50m from the house.
After a refreshing trip along the rivers you can relax in the salons or in the garden.
Books, magazines and newspapers are available. Lovers of comics are spoiled. And the The hosts are always willing to give you a drink.
The Gilleminus breakfast
In the morning you can enjoy a rich breakfast of homemade bread, freshly squeezed fruit juice, bread rolls and fresh baked cakes from the baker, home-made jams, eggs from our own chickens and freshly made coffee and tea. For lunch or dinner, we would like to refer you to addresses in our area. Temse has a lot of restaurants in different categories, we will be happy to help you with tips and reservations.
Surroundings and activities
Located at a short distance from the Schelde and the Temse bridge, you will be staying here in the heart of the land of rivers, the region around the rivers, Schelde, Durme and Rupel.
Nowhere in Flanders so many rivers come together in such a small area. The freshwater tide action creates a unique fauna and flora. The beautiful nature can be discovered on foot or by bike, on the water, and even with a hot air balloon.
The villages on both sides of the Scheldt are worth visiting. With more than enough cozy terraces and sights.
